So for this show and tell I want to show you how important it is to be on the "LOOK OUT" for coupons at the store. I didn't plan on purchasing the Garnier Fructis products at $1.99, but when I got there there were $1.00 coupon tear pads! That made each product .99! A GREAT deal! As I also walked around I was able to spot some more amazing savings!
People always ask me. "Where do you find these things?", and honestly my answer is EVERYWHERE! I am just constantly on the "LOOK OUT" for good coupons. Yesterday I managed to find a $2.00 off coupon when you bought two bags of Lays Potato chips, a free Fuze when I bought a multi pack, a $1.00 off Fuze multi pack coupon, a $10.00 rebate when you buy 2 bags of charcoal and $10.00 worth of meat products, $3.00 off any cooler (via mail in), $2.00 of Nivea body wash, and $1.00 of Bayer aspirin (both on sale at Walgreen's!). I do NOT pull of coupons that are on the products themselves-ONLY tear pads or loose coupons. Don't steal coupons from products that are for instant redemption!
The last couple weeks I also managed to find these coupons, $1.25 off 3 Philadelphia cream cheeses (I need to use it this week! That would make a great deal on cream cheese at Albie's), .50 cents of crystal light (always on sale) and .50 of cheese when you buy Sara Lee bread!)
I then proceeded to check out and look what was there!!!! Someone had left these coupons and the checker had SAVED them for me!!! How nice was that! The checker knew I came on Wednesdays and when the customer who received them didn't want them, the checker put them aside for me!!! There are 4 coupons for $5 off a $40 purchase!!! Easy for me to do!
I also wanted to share with you how sometimes it pays to sign up for those silly trial offers or mailing lists. The last week this is all I received in the mail, not including my e-mail box!
1 Playtex bottle
25.00 of a 4 course dinner at the Melting Pot (My B-day is coming up-hint hint honey)
B1G1 free smoothie
A free chili cheese dog with the purchase of one at Weinershnitzle
Free Country Bobs BBQ sauce (like I need any more after last week!)
$2.00 of Gillette Fusion shampoo
$1.00 of Jergen's Lotion
A free Sample of lotion
$5 off at Famous Footwear
Free Box of Kashi frozen waffles
5 coupons for $1.50 off one box of waffles from Kashi (Thank you Vocal Point)
A free sample of Mini Wheats (Thank you to Vocal Point)
A B1G1 free box of Mini Wheat's
5 coupons for $1.00 off one box of Mini Wheats
$5.00 of a Mimi's Cafe breakfast-took a survey last time I went
And I took a picture of my $17.98 Unilever rebate check
Wow! I am not sure I can even use all that before it expires! Again I am always on the "LOOK OUT" for savings
Also be aware the rewards programs at local store pay off too! Babies R Us always sends my valuable coupons in the mail, Staples gives me cash back and great rebates with their rewards programs, Paradise Bakery and Cafe adds up my points so eventually I can get a free meal after I get so many points, and there are SO many other programs! Take advantage and make sure you use them!!!!
After I started using Grocery Smarts, my whole perspective on "buying things" changed. I hate to buy something without a coupon or reward system, I am always keeping track of what a "good price" is and I am always finding great savings! I love that Grocery Smarts taught me the value of my money! My lifestyle has completely changed for the better! I love this new way of shopping that I have incorporated in my daily living!'
Now that you guys have been using Grocery Smarts what are some of the things you have found or discovered.

Well, speaking of the looking out for coupons... I was looking for bread to buy. I saw this bread on sale 2 for $5.00. But, on each loaf of bread there was a coupon for $2.00 off fresh produce--so I got $4.00 worth of oranges. So, I can either look at it as getting 2 loaves of bread for $1.00, or I got $4.00 in oranges for free. Either way, it was a good deal for some healthy natural bread. :)
I know this might be a dumb question...but what does DND stand for? I just got my first papers and I'm trying to figure this all out.
