
(I can't believe I am making a post about math! Math was my least favorite and most difficult subject for me in college! I saved my math classes for very last! I guess this is simple enough!)
Here is how you would figure it out:
I spent $36.98
I saved$ 212.98
1) Take both numbers and add them together: $249.96
2) Divide the number you spent by the sum of both numbers( 36.98/249.96) : 0.1479
3) Now take that number (14) and minus it from 100: 86
4) That makes it an 86% savings!
I know there are other ways to figure it out too, I just have found this way the easiest for me.

I'm sure you already know this, but you can eliminate steps #2 and #3 altogether by just taking the amount saved, divided by the total (both numbers added together) Much quicker. :) HTH!
Yes, thank you! I don't know why I like the long way, but I guess I like to make easy things complicated all the time.
